This is a collaborative work of the Junior High team of teachers and eighth grade students of Sayles School to investigate the use of technology and other forms of media to research human rights issues over time up to the 21st century. The end result of the project will be the development of a ramp and possibly equipment to assist children who attend the school and members of the community to be able to more easily use the playscape that is available on school grounds.

The students brainstormed disabilities to see what they knew regarding this topic worldwide. After the session each student chose an area to research. The areas were decided upon based on various criteria. Some of the students had quite a bit of information to add to the topic. Some students have family members with disabillities that encompass the physical, mental, and medical arenas. We also have students with disabililties in our school. Based on this the students listed areas that they thought would be beneficial to further their learning The areas ranged from a worldwide view to what is available at our school and in Sprague for the use of people with disabilities, the laws, and equipment available. A page will be available for each area so the students can report on their research.
